Most exfoliating washes feel like they're fighting your skin. This one doesn't. BCL's AHA Cleansing Research Wash uses Alpha Hydroxy Acids to gently dissolve the top layer of dead skin during your normal cleansing step — no scrubbing, no abrasion, just cleaner, smoother skin after each wash.
AHAs are water-soluble acids derived from fruit and milk that have been used in professional skincare for decades. At the concentrations in a daily wash, they work by loosening the bonds between dead skin cells on the surface, making them easier to rinse away. Used consistently, this means fewer clogged pores, a more even texture, and the kind of softness that makes everything else in your routine absorb better.
The formula rinses completely clean without any oily residue — a concern with some Japanese washes. Works well as a morning wash when your skin doesn't need a heavy cleanse, or as an alternating evening wash a few times a week alongside a more intensive cleansing routine. If you have very sensitive skin, patch test on the inner arm first.
- Wet your face with lukewarm water — not hot
- Work a small amount into lather between wet palms
- Massage gently over face for 30–60 seconds and rinse thoroughly
- Pat dry and follow immediately with toner or lotion
