Ito En Oi Ocha with Uji Matcha
🍵 Japan's everyday tea, blended with real Uji matcha ⛩️🌿
The tea most households in Japan actually keep in the kitchen — now blended with real Uji matcha.
A lot of "matcha" products sold online use a small amount of matcha flavoring dusted onto low-grade tea. This one is the actual Oi Ocha line from Ito En — one of Japan's largest and most established tea companies — blended with matcha grown in Uji, near Kyoto, the town that's been producing matcha since the 1200s. It's imported directly, not relabeled from a generic supplier.
Why blend matcha into tea bags at all
Whisking loose matcha takes tools and time most people don't have on a weekday morning. Blending real matcha powder into a green tea bag gives you that grassier, slightly sweeter matcha character — and a visibly deeper green cup — without needing a bamboo whisk or a bowl.
50 bags per pack — a couple of months of daily tea
Matcha sourced from Uji, Kyoto — Japan's original matcha region
How to brew it
1. Water just off the boil, around 80°C
2. Steep 60 seconds and give it a gentle swirl
3. Remove the bag — matcha settles fast if left too long
